ASUS quad-core Tegra 3 tablet incoming

Asus already has some cool tablets on the market today. The Eee Pad Transformer is one of the coolest tablets on the market with a design that allows the tablet to be docked with a keyboard that also has an internal battery to allow the thing to be used like a notebook. The Transformer only launched recently and so far, there are shortages of the tablet making them scarce. We posted up our review of the Transformer yesterday.


Although there aren’t enough parts for the Transformer to ship in the numbers Asus wants, it’s not slowing down on new tablets apparently. Asus is set to launch two more tablets in the May to July time frame. The new tablets will reportedly include the 10-inch Eee Pad Slider EP102 and the 7-inch Eee Pad MeMo EP71. The Slider will reportedly use a Tegra 2 CPU with the MeMo getting a Qualcomm processor.
DigiTimes reports that sources are also saying Asus will be launching tablets using the NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor, and this is the bigger news than the other two tablets above. The same sources also say that Asus will be offering tablets that use processors from Intel as well. I would assume that these tablets will most likely land after the component shortages end. That is unless they have been tweaked not to use whatever component is so scarce right now.
